Pastured and Grass Fed Meat Share
This week is a Meat Share pick up.
A Meat Share is 17 points you choose from a selection of Pork, Beef and Lamb. If you purchased a Whole Farm Share, be sure to pick up all the different shares.
If you are sharing a Vegetable Share and want to divide up the produce at the distribution, please arrive at the same time to avoid this situation:
“Hi, I’m here to pick up my share”
“Oh hi Joe, that’s interesting, because Marianne already picked up your share.”
“What? This is an outrage.”
“Well, if you had come in the same car then you could have split up the share right here.”
“I demand my money back.”

Farm News
It has been a very busy few months leading up to these first few pick ups and we are so excited to begin the harvest season. In February we purchased new land and moved our farm from leased land in Vermont to our farm here is Maryland. It is hard to believe that just 2 months ago we finished up our Winter CSA in the north and made our final move southward. In that time so much has happened. Since February Kevin has been here, building new structures and getting the farm ready for the season. Once our winter CSA ended I joined him down here and we dove in head first into the growing season. Now we have a greenhouse full of tomatoes that are 3 feet tall and heavy with green fruits. 2 months ago that same greenhouse was covering spinach 400 miles away. Potato plants are poking out of the ground, summer squash and cucumbers are forming on the vines and watermelons are flowering. Leafy greens are bountiful and beautiful. We continue to seed crops in the greenhouse and in the field. The weeds are growing and we are racing to stay ahead of them. We have 19 pigs who spend most of their time sleeping in the shade (I’m convinced they have the highest quality of life of anyone here on the farm). The batch of meat chickens that we started raising in April are now in your share and another batch is growing; tiny chicks in the barn, where they will stay for another week or so until they get their adult feathers and can go outside. The farm is in full motion. We look forward to distributing its bounty to you this week and in the weeks to come. I have a harvest plan for the week and very soon you will be eating the season’s first veggies from the farm. Make sure when you arrive to sign in and make sure to take all the shares that you signed up for. We design our share in a way to give you as much freedom and choice as possible. This also means that you don’t have to take everything, in the vegetable share. Take what you will use this week and remember that there will be more next week. If you have any questions about what you signed up for just ask us!
Your Farmers,
Margaret and Kevin
