Winter-Spring 2023-2024 will be the first season of the Financial Assistance Program at Groundworks Organic Farm. For the first time ever, families in need will be able to apply for up to a full scholarship (an approximately $700 value) for their Organic Produce Share.
“The financing for this first trial run year is coming exclusively from the generosity of current CSA members, which we are so excited about,” says Margaret Brown, the CSA manager at Groundworks Organic Farm.
“Right now we are offering financial assistance on Organic Produce Shares ONLY, but we hope to add grass-fed meat, eggs, and cheese to our Financial Assistance Program in years to come,” says farmer Kevin Brown.
Groundworks has been providing organic food to their community of members year-round now for 15 years straight – and has built up a reputation for reliability, integrity, and excellence.
“Groundworks is an integral part of our community now – they are a part of our family story,” says Groundworks CSA Member Kathy Lewis as she gathers her weekly allotment at a Groundworks Pickup in Arlington recently. Lewis continues “for the right family, this scholarship opportunity could be a godsend.”
